Played with Tom and Norb. Temp in the 50’s, cloudy with occasional sun. Wind was brisk which kept us cool/cold. Arrived for a 1000 tee time, only players then. Moved right along. Tee markers had been taken in but we knew the layout so no problem. Plenty of fallen leaves to add to our discomfort. Greens sort of fast actually. Later on more golfers showed up but it remained cold due to the wind. Might be the last golf of the year.

Played with Tom and Norb at 1230. Perfect weather,, sunny and in the 70’s. First time here this year for me. Greens had been plugged on September 3 so putting was tricky.

Played with Tom and Norb who recently had a hip surgery. Beautiful day. I had a coupe bad holes on the front, putting was terrible. Came around a little on the back and did better. Ate after at the course

Plqyed with Tom. Paired up with two guys on the first tee. Perfect weather. We played gold tees. I had my usual mix of good and bad holes. Julie came home today from her tennis tournament in Cincinnati, i was pretty well worn out after this round.

Played with Tom. 8:30 tee time but we got out early. Fairways were dewy but greens were moved ahead of us and were fast I had some bad holes on the back. Still figuring some things out.

Was supposed to play at. Venango. Tom called me as I was en route, Connie was sick, Norb fell off his scooter and broke a hip and Fred has a heart monitor on and cannot play. So I stopped at Country Meadow and was first out. I needed a good test for my first real round of the year. Played the whites except for 16 and 17. Still lost a ball in the pond, my only penalty. Was playing OK and feel I will be improving as time goes by. Finished before 10 am.

Golfed with Tom, Wayne and Mike Little. Cloudy day, a couple sprinkles. We played the white tees. Big course with several long holes. I was generally satisfied with my play. Last time here for me was in September, 2020 with Tom and Wayne. The fairways were cut really short which is how I like them. The greens and tee boxes were pretty beat up. Poured rain after I got home. FOP meeting at Wesleyville tonight.

Played with Tom, Norb and Wayne. Beautiful late summer day. I was playing decent enough but putting was atrocious. Headed to Meadville tomorrow to see Dr. Molli about my knee. Looking ahead I made an appointment for surgery on 9/26/23.

Played the white tees. Beautiful day. I played alone. Course was almost deserted so I moved at my own pace. Played better than the score indicated.

Very hot ! In the 80’s, humid. Played with Tom, Norb and Fred. Course in good shape. Holes 5 and 10 kept me from breaking 100. Was playing OK. Ate at Engine 39 afterwards.

Played with Tom, Norb and Fred. It was a beautiful day. I played for the first time since the Elk’s tournament which was August 11th. Knee was bad after that buy seemed to be improving some.

This was the Elk’s Lodge Dick Sullivan Memorial tournament. Perfect weather, course in great shape. It was a full scramble event with one score for the team: Tom Luschini, Tom Shaw, Jim Vanmable. We started on Hole 5A. Attendance was definitely off, probably about 40%. Hot dogs before but no chips. A six pack per man but no little cooler. Tom L. Was our best player by far. Jim struggled and was not his usual steady player. Tom S. Was only so so. I was there, about all I can say. My knee was so bad and is still bad as I write this on Monday A.M. Took Tom Shaw’s “shortcut” back to the lodge for the steak dinner. My door prize was 12 Bridgestone golf balls, not the real expensive ones. I guess this was Dr. Tom’s last year to run the event. I think they had too many of those contests on every hole. The putt ones only slowed play down as guys over analyzed those shots. Still a good tourney for the cost.

Elk’s senior couples league. Julie and I played with Berry and Jan. Weather was perfect. Went to Outlaw bbq after. First time there. It was ok. Sort of slow but we were a big group. Some folks complained. After we left it was reported that Tom Shaw got into a beef with the waitress and left without paying their bill. The manager said he would comp their meal. Sounds like Tom was acting like a real jerk. We had left so I don’t know for sure.
